Interventionists have no credentials, use Johnson method from the 60s. It is ambush style, severe consequence, scare tactic, manipulation.

Mike the CEO runs a non-profit facility and drives his Mercedes to the interventions.  He is first and foremost a good salesman, please check other places before using his facility.  Check other methods that will leave your loved one feeling empowered rather than bullied and stripped of everything that matters.  The Johnson method is old fashioed, uses trickery, deceit and sneaking around behind the back of the subject leaving them feeling angry, defensive and more likely to relapse afterward.  They don't confirm the state of the person they are doing the intervention on.  They don't make sure that every avenue was explored first or even that the family members have ever confronted the person before.  In short they use a blanket method that may leave the person recovered from their addiction by force and fear temporarily but will leave them needing recovery from the pain of the intervention.  They care more about filling a bed at their facility for 10,000 a month than whether they are acting ethically.  Question any intervention that involves the Johnson method, explore The Systems Model of Alcohol Intervention, CRAFT or ARISE, these all empower the person you want to help.
