This is supposedly a data retrieval company. However, their website is misleading -- guaranteeing no cost if they don't recover your data.

This company sends a quote for "full retrieval" of your lost data. Then they demand a hefty down payment (hundreds) to get started. Then they drag you out for a week or two before giving you the bad news that your data can't be recovered. Of course, they keep your money -- and I'm still trying to get my hard drive back.

they had me overnight my drive to them. got it diagnosed the next day. turned out to be a minor problem. saved money. better safe than sorry
